Rebekah McCullough


Rebekah is an Evaluation Team Leader and Trainer for SAMS.

Rebekah has been involved in the disability and education sector since 1974. This has included working in Special Education as well as working for IHC (now IDEA) for 14 years. Rebekah also worked for 11 years in the Pacific region assisting in a number of projects to identify those with a disability, unmet needs development of inclusive education, disabled peoples organisations and family support.

Rebekah is committed to advocating for the rights of marginalised people. Rebekah’s experiences have shown her that development of positive and long-lasting relationships are the key element to achieving a better life for all involved.

Rebekah believes in education and development processes that focus on inclusion and maintain integrity and values of those involved as well as building on the strength and capacities of those who will maintain the process. Rebekah enjoys cooperating and collaborating in order to ensure a positive benefit to all involved.

Rebekah is a social person who enjoys the companionship of family and friends and especially being a grandmother! Rebekah enjoys reading, water sports and yoga.

Rebekah has a BS in Special Education, MA in Special Education (specialising in early intervention for children with disabilities, behavioural change and learning disabilities & inclusive education), is a Registered NZ teacher and has participated in Te Reo and NZ Sign Language training.
