SAMS has been successfully conducting evaluations, delivering training and providing support to the disability sector since 1979. SAMS works nationally and internationally to ensure:
SAMS is an independent, not-for-profit organization governed by people with a disability and family/whanau. Our staff of trained and experienced evaluators, educators and researchers demonstrate partnership in action. SAMS personnel combine specialist knowledge of the intellectual, physical and sensory disability fields, as well as community mental health, with expertise in developmental evaluation and adult education. In 1994 SAMS developed the Multi-Perspective Approach. This methodology enables service users, families and providers to constructively work together using evaluation to provide a forum for quality improvement. SAMS has worked internationally and our approach is recognised as being innovative and effective. The SAMS logo is a length of woven flax. Flax is found throughout New Zealand. Its use symbolizes the strength achieved when there is an inclusive and unified approach. |
